Bridge Project Day 2

Background Research

Objective:

What: SWBAT design and create a bridge that will hold up the greatest amount of weight-for-mass.
How: Students will use up to 500 toothpicks and Elmer’s glue to construct a bridge that spans an 18-inch gap.
Why: To be life long learners, we need to apply the physical concepts learned in class to real life situations.  Also, 3 winning teams from all the classes will get extra credit.

Physics Bridge Project:
Background Research



Objective:
What: SWBAT identify and analyze pro's and cons of different types of building methods for their bridge project.
How: Students will use what they learn from class today to create a rough draft bridge design with their group.
Why: To be life long learners we need to use the physical concepts we learn in class and apply them to real life situations.
